Sixteen Girl is Kelun’s debut single, released on February 20th, 2008.
I’m a big fan of Kelun, but their debut single is pretty mediocre. Sixteen Girl has a very amateur feeling to it for the verses, and the chorus is even worse. The vocal work isn’t bad; it’s the notes Kojima Ryousuke strikes that could’ve been better. What I mean to say is that the musical score isn’t very good. The production value, otherwise, is pretty high.
Shounen Icarus (young boy Icarus) is actually better. Although the beginning set me off on a bad foot, but except for parts of the verses and the guitar solos, it’s a pretty good song with a nice beat. It could be less aggressive, though, and longer.
